Former School Counselor and first responder to the 1999 Columbine Shootings has written two children’s books on school violence prevention. School shootings have become much too common in our culture. This intervention tool will teach children to intervene and create safety.

Monday in Stark, NV there was yet another school shooting. Children’s author Julie Federico is trying to put an end to school violence and has been successful at writing two age appropriate books for children. Students Can Help Keep Schools Safe will be released in December through West Bow Press.

These books have the potential to save students lives as they educate children about school intruders and students within the school planning violence. Educating children about violence and making it possible for them to report threats are the focal points of both books. With proper education children can change the climate at a school and decrease violence.
